About the nightlife in Pattaya
& Popcorn GoGo in
particular How are
your drinks Popcorn?
Our draught beers are priced at 55 Baht all night.
Ladies drinks are slightly cheaper at 95 Baht, there are no high
priced rip-off drinks and there is no cover charge.
Every day we also have various happy hours.
For even extra value, why not try some of the local Thai whisky?
Sangthip or Mekhong with soda or coke - wonderful!
Food & Climate
Tell me about the food you can eat in Thailand.
Thai food can sometimes be quite fiery to those not used to it, but
there is an equal amount that is very acceptable to western
palates. There are opportunities to sample the local food in many
restaurants and hotel coffee shops (a good place to start for the
less experienced), as well as on the street - the same as the
locals.
Can I find more western food here
too?
Oh yes, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Macdonalds,
Swensens Ice Cream. All of theseare in the same shopping mall!
There are also numerous privately run European restaurants serving
excellent food, see our English Food page.
What's the weather good all year
round?
Sure, the easiest way to describe it if you haven't been here
before: Three letter word beginning with H and ending with
T.
What sort of clothes
should I bring with me?
Lightweight shirts and shorts are just about the best things
to bring. Sometimes in the cool season (November - December) it can
be almost nippy in the evening so bring a sweatshirt.
The Thais are a very modest people, so if you're lpanning on
visiting a temples or palaces, avoid causing offence and
remember to wear a shirt and long trousers and not a vest and
shorts that you might wear in the GoGo.
Is Thailand Safe?
Thailand is very safe, especially when compared to European
or American countries. You may occasionally hear in back home about
tourists having a bad press while in Thailand. The reason that the
reports get into the foreign press is because there is very little
crime against tourists and therefore it becomes a big story.
It is a lot safer to wander around Bangkok or Pattaya at night than
London, New York or Sydney.
Visas and
Passports I need a
passport, right?
Yes and it needs to be valid for at least 6 months from your date
of arrival in Thailand.
Do I need a visa?
Most countries (including the USA, Canada, Australia, Western
Europe), you do not need a visa for stays of 30 days or less.
You will get a 30 day tourist visa free when you arrive at
Bangkok Airport. Make sure you do have a return flight ticket
or another ticket, occasionally you may be asked to show
this.
